Hi, having just completed the rewiring of my R75/5 with a new fused harness and all new sub harnesses I now have everything illuminating as
it should..... Except my flashers don't work. I have been supplied a new style Bosch relay which clicks once when the switch goes to the on position but no indicator lights illuminate. If I bridge the two slots in use on the relay housing the indicators illuminate left and right when switched but obviously do not flash, so I think the circuit wiring is good.

I suspect I have been supplied a faulty relay? Can anyone concur with this theory please, before I send it back?

Thanks in anticipation.

Is the relay OEM or

Is the relay OEM or aftermarket? I understand that aftermarket relays might not work correctly. OEM part number is 61 31 1 352 941. Terminals are 15 and 54...it's quite different than other relays for other models. Only two wires go to it...a green with black stripe and a green with yellow stripe.

Yea I got the wires right.

Yea I got the wires right. The relay was supplied by Motorworks BMW specialists in Yorkshire. Its a Bosch replacement for the old mechanical cylinder type. I have just ordered a Durite 0-606-00 12 Volt 2/4 x 21 + 5W Hazard Flasher Unit. It seems to cross reference and I can get one cheap through a company I used to work for.

The more thought I apply to this process the more I am confident the relay is at fault. Tomorrow will reveal all!!!

Thanks for your reply.

Chris

PS. The little bugger is almost ready to be fired up!

The Durite flasher has three

The Durite flasher has three terminals...how's that going to work? I show a substitute as Tridon Stant EL12 also Tridon Stant 522. Hella makes some possible substitutes. It will be interesting to see how yours works.
