I'm not able to get into the "Bikes for Sale" section....needing some kind of special access as the previous guy was experiencing....

Same problem
I am having the same problem as others. When I try to view areas requiring membership I get the message:
"Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum."
Can someone help correct this? Thanks.

It's the same as above, Randy. Those areas are only open to VBMWMO club members.

Of course, that's a scenario. But a lot of us have found out that buying one first and then learning what to look at and what needs work is a very expensive way to get into the hobby. It's a significantly better idea to learn about the object of your interest first and thereby become a better informed purchaser.
It's also the case that this forum is a form of advertising for the VBMWMO to increase membership, which helps us produce a better newsletter and become more involved in the many things going on.
If the $25 for a membership is too dear to a potential buyer, to become more informed and possibly lead them into a deeper understanding and interest, then I suspect that they are going to be very unhappy when they buy a bike from an ad.
In any event, the chat areas here are open to all, courtesy of the club. Please feel free to enjoy them and learn from the community about these bikes.

Hmmphh....
Joined a while ago, just posted this in another thread but from the sound of things it never hurts to reiterate.
I joined and PAID my $25 to keep this site open and everyone happy but now I can't access 'Bikes for sale' and few other forum threads. What gives? I paid, I did my share.....now you do yours.
