This appears to be another reaction to the prices that were garnered at the Willy Neutkens auction at the BMW Museum at the end of November. This does appear to be a completely original bike, and you don't see many of them for sale (the R3 had a pretty low production run).
Still, it appears that BMW of Daytona didn't get the $145k they were asking for their R32. Maybe there's some sanity coming back to prices. It will be interesting to see what happens at the Las Vegas auction next week.

Unfortunately, the Vegas auction won't be all that interesting, there's nothing older than a 1960 R69. Other than that, it's all R50's and R60's, and those models didn't do anything special at the Neutkens auction. The two Bristol Grey bikes should do well since they are nicely restored. Seems people are hoarding all the prewar bikes these days...

The price is too high!!
Crazy guy
What is he hiding with his finger in the plate photo? Clearly his pie is in the sky.

That guy is crazy. Then again I thought the guy who had the R4 that was rusted to hell and probably came out of a swamp for $6k was nuts..
