Recently we made the successful transfer of the club's website to a new and more spacious hosting service (see separate thread in this area). That was step one in our two part plan to bring more information and more capabilities to the club's website.
Part two is a brand new website! Sometime in January, 2010, we will be down for a few hours while the transition occurs to our new website.
The new site will:
- make better use of your screen space
- use a larger font to make it easier to read
- will have much better tools for finding information that you need
- will integrate the forums more tightly with the rest of the website
- will make it easier for you to keep track of your membership
- will provide space for you to have your own beemer photo galleries
- and much more!
It will have a new look, but it will have a familial resemblance to the current site. The search tool will work over both the website and forum, so when you go hunting for some information, you'll see everything in one place. We will have an integrated online store, which should make it much easier for you to see what the club has for sale and to get an order processed. Your orders will be conveniently visible in your website profile, along with your club membership information, and list of your recent postings. The resources, links and bibliography information will all have new sorting and filtering tools that will make it easier to find what you're looking for. All of the rallies will appear together on a google map and each listing will have its own map.
We think you will really like this upgrade!

For this weekend, I'd like to invite you to visit our new website and forum.
Please feel free to login and try out the forum. However, keep in mind that nothing added to the new site will remain after this weekend.
This is really just my clever way of getting some feedback about the new site. So, if you have an opinion or find something broken, just write to me at webmaster@vintagebmw.org. Thanks for taking the time to have a look!
