Pedro Jorge da Silva Costa, of Oporto, Portugal, is listed in our Resource Links listing as a prewar speedometer specialist, and he owns some pretty interesting bikes, too. He has promised me some more photos. This is what he says in his email:
The story and love for old BMW´s started when i was 15 years old and my father in christmas gave me a BMW r-26.
By that time in 1993 there was a lot of pre war BMW for sale but we had never left Portugal for motorcycle barn finds .
My father always said to me that the best thing in the market is always used by state police and government patrol and that is true because for my father he has a car passion for Mercedes Benz and for motorcycles the white and blue logo.
After the BMW R-26 we went to a motorcycle meeting in Portugal and saw for the first time a BMW R-35 and we were fascinated for had shift lever and one year later we bought one that we made almost 2000 km without problems .
In 1996 my father bought a BMW R-32 in Austria that was the first motorcycle imported to that country in 1924 for the dealer O. Baron and Company.
The passion passed the limits and we became addict to BMW scene because nowadays the bike is still in our dinning room in the 3º floor on Oporto city where we live.
Then we bought the first 750 cc the BMW r-62 that is very good bike for its period but not so comfortable as the Indian 101 Scout that i also ride often
I send you some pictures of my bikes so you can share with all your USA members.
A BMW R-47 in original paint , a BMW R-11 I serie and also a Victoria KR1 . The photo with side car is not available because we have not attached with the bike.

Pedro Costa's bikes.
It was great to see Pedro Costa's bikes featured on the website. Pedro manufactured a reproduction speedometer for my R62 earlier this year. He did a great job. It is correct in every respect.
Thanks Pedro
