Here's some info I have

Here's some info I have collected, mostly from Allan Atherton who used to post here a lot. This may be geared to the /2 (where I got the info) but I would think it's somewhat universal.

One place he mentioned was Vech's website, and here's a link to that do-it-yourself stuff:

Mark Huggett in Huggett Tips Forum on 18 Aug 1998.
The official pinstripe layout decided by ourselves together with BMW in Münich this spring
is as follows:
Wide line: 5mm
Narrow line: 1,5mm
Distance between the two lines: 4mm

Roland Slabon in "How to Restore Your BMW Motorcycle".
The striping dimensions are:
Edge of fender to first stripe: 1/4"
Width of first stripe: 1/8"
Space between 1st and 2nd stripe: 5/32"
Width of 2nd stripe: 1/16"

There are a number of places that have pictures of tanks, but they might not be enough resolution to be that useful. These are Phil Hawksley's site and Beemergarage.

That's a good link Kurt, thanks! My painter studied many pictures on-line and spent all winter with tank and fenders. I haven't measured them but I think he got it pretty close and he's pretty proud of them every time he sees the bike.
