Hi all,

I have a crack in my right cylinder head at the spark plug on my 66 R60/2. Can anyone recommend a good repair shop, or if it should just be replaced.

Thanks.

Have you read Duane's

Have you read Duane's discussion of cracks and Butterheads?

http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/head/index.htm

Depending on where the crack is, it might be OK. But if you have the Butterheads, it might be better to look for a set of LK heads.

Where are you located? Maybe there's some help nearby.

I'm in North Carolina. It's

I'm in North Carolina. It's a very audible escaping of air noise coming from the spark plug when you try to kick it over

I don't know anything about

I don't know anything about them, but this shop claims to know something about /2s:

http://www.smcspec.com/

Of course, there's Vech at Benchmark Works in Mississippi.

Also, there's a salvage yard in NC:

Hey guys. It turns out it

Hey guys. It turns out it wasn't a crack in the head, but damage to the spark plug insert. I had a machine shop fix it for $100.

Chesson Machine
Raleigh, NC

Thanks
