I keep having problems with the key popping up. I tried lubricating the little ball/detent but still have the same problem. I have 2 wallet keys and both react the same way.

I called to order a new switch ( 61 32 8048100) from my usual supplier, Bench Mark Works, but he says he received and returned the last lot he received because they were defective and has none.

Anyone have some experience with this problem? Suggestions about where to order a new quality switch??

Thanks

But here...not so much! Laughing

The problem is likely that the two small ball bearings which have springs behind them are not securely holding the key in place. The ball bearings are supposed to drop into the groove in the key. It's possible to disassemble the switch plate and figure out why that's not working.

Alternative solutions would be to use some bungee cord to hold the key down. Or to use an appropriate size nail (10 penny?) to shove in and make the contacts. After all, the stock key is affectionately called a "nail".
