Hi guys-
I am thinking of adding running lights/fog lights or something to the front of my R60/6 for improved visibility & safety.
Has anyone done any added light kits to a /5 or /6? What kind of kits did you use & where did you mount? How about electrical connections & adding a switch?
thanks
Kat

Kat -First thing to consider

Kat -

First thing to consider is the extra load on the somewhat anemic charging system. If only used sporadically for fog, etc., might be OK. Long time use and lots of power will be a problem.

Not a problem at all

Use the higher output /6 alternator on your /5 or whatever...that is 260 watts... and a good strong battery...with good grounds..

THEN use LED bulbs if you are worried about drain...the LED bulbs draw almost nothing....I saw some made in Sacramento at a bike rally that were super, super bright...wow...and drew almost nothing...it was amazing...

Mottorad Eletrik sells LED tail light bulbs ...you probably don't need them for your turn signals as they are not on long...but just changing the stop and running lights with LED bulbs will make an incredable difference...

I even run an electric vest ...but I am too old to do much night riding...never have a problem...
